The #itgetsbetter project’s mission is to communicate to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth around the world that it gets better, and to create and inspire the changes needed to make it better for them.
Unite Alliance is for young people aged 14-25 years old who are same sex attracted, gender diverse or questioning, and their allies. The group meets regularly to develop awareness campaigns and projects that aims to tackle discrimination and inequality for LGBTIQ young people in the community. Unite Alliance is a safe space to meet new people, express themselves freely and make a change in their community.
As part of the #itgetsbetter campaign Unite Alliance is asking your organisation or your LGBTIQ youth group to submit a 5-20 second video clip (can be produced on your phone) with a message of support and hope to other LGBTIQ young people.
Selected videos will be included in a music clip to the song ‘It Gets Better’ Acoustic version and sung by a young person. The selected clips will be incorporated into the music clip, which will be released later in the year. Those selected videos produced by young people, will also receive a Double Pass Movie Ticket.
Please send your videos of support to either of the following:
– Email: youthservices@cgd.vic.gov.au
– Facebook Messanger: facebook.com/cgdyouthservices
– Drop it off to Youth Sevices on USB or CD located at 39 Clow Street, Dandenong.
