This research was conducted by the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS, La Trobe University) in 2018-19 to help address the gap in evidence that exists for trans and gender diverse Australians in health and cancer care.
Lucille Kerr, PhD candidate and Specialist Cancer Nurse, will present the findings of the study alongside key recommendations arising from the research.
The survey builds on the findings from previous Australian research on trans and gender diverse health and wellbeing, which has highlighted issues related to marginalisation and discrimination, leading to poorer health and wellbeing in this community.
The event will be a chance for trans and gender diverse community advocates to come together with researchers and healthcare professionals to form partnerships for change
