Q-space Melbourne offers a queer positive ‘drop-in’ space, that affirms, connects and provides mutual support with positive peers and allies. It also offers access to queer mental health professionals for mental health support.
Q-Space is a ‘drop in’ space offered over the duration of the postal survey for those seeking direct access to social, mental health, wellbeing, queer positive and affirming support, particularly at this time of need of the postal survey. This safe space is community-led and managed for:
• young LGBTIQ+ people and Rainbow families, children and their parents on Wednesdays between 4pm – 5.30 pm; and
• For adults (Over 18+) LGBTI+ community members, 6pm – 7.30 pm
Q space offers:
• Afterschool support – including support with educational activities
• Healthy snacks that promote positive health
• Access to mental health & wellbeing specialist advice, and other information that supports positive help-seeking
• Chill out zone with books & music
• Sports and recreation activity zone
• On-site Youth focused activities
Drop-in will be open on the 18th, 24th and 25th October, 14th, 15th, 24th, 22nd and 29th November, and the 6th Deecember.

All volunteers will be required to attend an information session in volunteer training run by drummond street services and required to have a valid Working with Children Check. As this is a safe space, participants must be aware that the organisations have the right to refuse entry to those who may compromise the safety for other participants.
