Training Day
Wednesday May 11th 2016 – Room 102/3, La Trobe University, CITY campus, 215 Franklin Street, Melbourne.
Safe schools Coalition Victoria’s in-house training session this term will be running from 9:30am to 3.30pm. This training is divided into two sessions, allowing you to join them for part of the day or the entire day, depending on your individual needs. The event is free for anyone who wishes to attend and catering will be provided.
9.30am – 12.00pm Supporting gender diversity, intersex and sexual diversity in schools
This is the chance to find out what being a part of Safe Schools Coalition Victoria is all about. Or use this opportunity for a refresher and a chance to go even deeper into the research, evidence, strategies, and tools that work to make a school more supportive of gender diversity, sexual diversity and intersex.
1:00pm– 3.30pm Action planning for your school
Create an ‘Action Plan’ to address homophobia and transphobia, and create a more inclusive environment in your school. This session will include strategies to measure the impact of your interventions, ideas for next steps, and scenario planning for overcoming any potential barriers to conducting activities.
