SA: LGBTIQ+ Mental Health Service Launch

Join Thorne Harbour Health for the launch of our LGBTIQ+ mental health service. Thorne Harbour Health are proud to announce Adelaide will soon be home to the second only government-funded service of its kind in Australia!

Mark your calendars because our friends at iconic queer venue, My Lover Cindi, will be hosting us for a momentous evening of celebration, education, and community building.

Date: Monday 31 July, 2023

Time: 6.00p.m. – 9.00p.m.

Address: My Lover Cindi, 223 Flinders St, Adelaide

What to expect:

  • Be inspired by representatives from Thorne Harbour Health as they explain why it’s so important to have specialist LGBTIQ+ services and what exactly they’ll be offering. Venetia Brissenden, Manager of Therapeutic Services will be speaking alongside community advocates.
  • The amazing Annie from Finest Filth will be our delightful host for the evening, introducing our speakers and getting the crowd going.
  • Get ready for DJ ClubDad to take us to the dance floor later in the evening with some nostalgic bops.
  • Enjoy a variety of free mocktails and other refreshments at the bar with alcohol to purchase too.

This is a free event but we recommend registering your attendance as we have limited spots!

The mental health service is funded by the Adelaide Primary Health Network – an Australian Government Initiative. We thank them for their support and partnership in this program and launch event. The service launches July 31 and is for anyone in any LGBTIQ+ community who is experiencing mental illness or psychological distress, aged 16 and over. More information about signing up for the service can be found here.

Have your say! :D
