PBS 106.7FM is proud to announce that they are launching an Access Training Program to increase participation from women and gender diverse people in music broadcasting and the wider music community.
The PBS Access Training program is running for the first time this year, with 3 x free training courses for women and gender diverse people, with room for eight participants in each course. Participants will be paired with a female mentor from the PBS broadcast/music community and will receive support and guidance throughout the course from the mentors and the program facilitator.
The training course will cover topics including: introduction to radio/writing for radio, radio presentation, interviewing, broadcast law, planning a program, technical skills, programming on PBS and using the studio. In addition to this, there will be specialist trainers undertaking specific classes throughout the course.
Following the eight week course, participants will gain access to a one hour program on PBS Digital Radio in which trainees will gain live radio experience as presenters, panel operators and producers.
The first training course will run on Tuesday nights 6:30pm-8:30pm on August 30, September 6, 13, 20, 27 October 4, 11, 18. There will be more courses happening in the next twelve months so if you are unable to do these dates keep your eyes peeled for future courses.
