Media Organisation.
JOY is Australia’s only rainbow community media organisation and one of only three LGBTQIA+ Radio
Stations in the world. Not only does JOY provide a platform to make sure the diverse voices of our
community are heard globally, but we also offer educational services in the form of radio training.
JOY’s aim has always been to create a more inclusive Australia, which is why we are offering scholarships
for JOYs Podcasting and Radio Content Course. This scholarship is for under-represented members of our
community, including LGBTQIA+ identifying first nations people, people of colour, intersex people, trans
and gender diverse individuals and people with a disability.
The scholarship covers 80% of the training course ($450) and a JOY Membership ($42), bringing the price
down to $100!
This nine-week online course will teach participants how to prepare, produce, record and edit their very
own podcast or pre-recorded radio show from home.
They will be trained remotely via zoom by JOY’s expert team of trainers and will learn the basics of
podcasting, writing for radio and podcasts, media law, interviewing techniques, presenting, recording and
editing, as well as how to market your podcast!
Participants will also have the chance to become a JOY Volunteer, join an established program or pitch a
JOY Show Podcast or Radio show! More information on the course and upcoming dates is a

And as the course is online, participants can be located anywhere in Australia!
There are TWO scholarships available for each training course and a new training course starts every 1-2
months.
