Gender fluid clothing choices with Louis Vuitton

512px-First_Lady_Betty_Ford's_beige_striped_gownJaden Smith, son of celebrity Will Smith has been made the “face” of Loius Vuitton women’s wear, because he’s young, hip and wears whatever he likes, whenever he likes.

“I’m just expressing how I feel inside, which is really no particular way because everyday it changes how I feel about the world and myself,” Smith told GQ.

On the one hand this would appear to be a step forward for clothing choices, and we can only hope that the same respect for Jaden is extended to other people who wear clothing which is “traditionally” worn by members of the opposite sex.

After visiting TopShop in April, Smith posted an Instagram of him trying on a dress with the caption: “Went to TopShop to buy some Girl Clothes, I mean “Clothes”.

However, like all things fashion, this could just be a gimmick to sell clothes and accessories. But you be the judge: would he have been given the contract if he was just another person on the street, or had a different shaped body?
