About this role: 

A dynamic role that supports the provision of best practice counselling and web-chat services for Australia’s national telephone and web-based LGBTI counselling and referral service www.qlife.org.au.

The National LGBTI Health Alliance (“the Alliance”) is the national peak body of organisations and individuals working together to improve the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans/transgender, intersex and other sexuality, sex and gender diverse (LGBTI) people.

A vacancy exists within the QLife Project www.qlife.org.au for an experienced counsellor to support the counselling and web-chat services for the project, with a strong focus on facilitating counselling supervision for staff and volunteers and the development of National training resources.

The ideal candidate will have strong counselling, supervision and training skills, and an understanding of the complexities, challenges and benefits of decentralized, non-face-to-face counselling and supervision. You will work collaboratively and sensitively with QLife partners and stakeholders to ensure consistency and therapeutic excellence across QLife staff and volunteers.

You are an experienced and highly competent counsellor skilled in, and committed to, the provision of timely, appropriate and dynamic supervision. Your skills will be applied to supporting the delivery of a high quality teleweb mental health counselling and referral service to LGBTI populations.

The job will require some interstate travel, occasional after hours work and a willingness to participate in rostered on-call.
